Pet Dog Training Instructors
Course 2008
Saturday 9th August
- Saturday 16th August
Harper Adams College,
Newport, Shropshire
After the overwhelming success of the second course last year, this
third one aims to build on its achievements!
The "Pet Dog Training Instructors (PDTI) Course" facilitates
training in both instructing skills and in addressing the needs of the
pet dog owning public. It is committed to improve service standards and
continually update to meet the demands of changing times. The PDTI Course
fully supports the Kennel Club Accreditation Scheme for Instructors
in Dog Training and Canine Behaviour, and in doing so, includes the
Kennel Club Good Citizens Dog Scheme within its base obedience exercises.
The course also includes the opportunity to explore other canine competition
and working activities.
With a packed timetable of practical sessions, tutorials, lectures and
discussion times, in our opinion, it is a course not to be missed!
With numbers strictly limited, bookings now being received now, so to
avoid disappointment you will need to book early!
The PDTI course offers four certificate levels:
1. Introductory Certificate in Instructing
2. Intermediate Certificate in Instructing
3. Instructors Certificate
4. Certificate in Advanced Instructing Skills
Students may discuss options and will
be advised as the week progresses as expertise may vary considerably.
Each certificate will be awarded at one of the three levels: Pass, Merit
or Excellent. Attendance certificates will be given to students who have
participated but do not currently meet the standards of the awards.
It runs as a week-long residential course, and costs includes bed, breakfast
and evening meals. Dogs are allowed in the rooms when with you. When alone,
dogs must be left in a suitable vehicle. (Reduced overnight fees will
apply to those taking advantage of camping / caravans / off-site options)
